Today we were up at the crack of dawn to beat it to swim class for 5:30 am, yahoo!
I have been interested in leading a 5:30 am swim class for a long time and today's class was a good example of why we should have this time slot. We had 20 swimmers willing to be there, yahoo!
The class was fun and I'm pretty sure everyone had a good swim with just enough challenge to push them but not overwhelm anybody because we want them to come back for another try! : )
I'm back to work here today and I sure need to catch up on my teams training plans but this month brings so many changes it's important for me to meet with each of them so we can cover all the bases.
A few are still racing this month but most will call it an end to the 2011 triathlon season so I have to get all their gym plans rolling asap!
It's so nice to have all of my daily living luxuries back again and not be restricted at every turn by having to think "how will it fit on the bike" or "oh yes I have the bike".
I was driving my truck yesterday for the first time in weeks and it felt like I was extremely protected from everything around me, which is not a common feeling on a motorcycle!
Riding a motorcycle can be dangerous but I found one of the most important rules when riding is to never turn the throttle up until you know exactly where you are heading.
Oh the temptation is there to crank on that throttle and launch yourself into another world of go fast riding, but I've been there and done that.
Nope for me it's subtle riding with as few mistakes as I can make and I always keep my head up!
Knock on wood, we had a wonderful time riding our motorcycle but I never took anything for granted especially our personal safety!

Congratulations!
This Ironman has a few differences, the swim start being the most obvious change but that didn't prevent her from finishing another great Ironman and chalking it up to all the very good training she did to prepare herself.
An interesting fact from our long summer days was that Christine, Todd, Brandi, and Rob had taken to riding their long Saturday rides together and by doing this these competitors pushed each other to new limits.
Most times I frown on my athletes getting too comfortable together because one will be working too hard or one will be slacking which just wastes time but if they are drafting and working together to get the speeds up I'm OK with it, but it makes me cringe when they take too many chances.
I will meet with Brandi tomorrow and I'm sure she will fill in the Louisville details for me but I don't think she could have done any better then she did by finishing her first ever Ironman in style! : )
Congratulations!
Well I have to get going and you probably have stuff to do as well, so let's get going, yahoo!
Back soon!
Cheers!
