Good Saturday evening everybody from Ishpeming Michigan, yahoo!
We couldn't get a hotel room in Marquette so we had to reserve here but it's like the Brooklin Whitby distance and sense of community.
Actually we are pleased with our hotel and it's easy access to and number of places to eat and shop.
The ride from Grand Rapids today was uneventful but enjoyable at the same time!
Our speed was cut way back to stay within the law : ) and coming from wide open parries to these tree lined pathways was interesting.
I should mention that some of the trees are turning colour already which is nice but on the other hand it sends a clear signal as to what is coming, ouch!
We made pretty decent time because we were on the bike leaving by 7:25 am, arriving here just about 2:00 pm which was a good time to check in and I could finally set my watch back to Eastern Standard time!
Tonight is our last sleepover night in the USA because we are about 3.5 hrs away from the Sault St Marie boarder crossing and we'll make that well before lunch time tomorrow, then drive on to our next stopover.
If we were in Sault St Marie the drive back to be Whitby from there would take about 9.5 hrs and if you add the 3.5 hrs from here, it makes a straight run back impossible based on how we have been riding.
It will be nice to be back in Canada even though we have had a wonderful time here in the USA but like they say, there is no place like home! : )
We are supposed to get some thunder storms here tonight but they should be cleared off by morning.
One way or another we will be on the road again, yahoo!
